Matteo Gavinelli

Regulatory Affairs Specialist (Italy) and QPPV

A degree in Veterinarian Medicine, a research doctorate in Pharmacology and Toxicology, a first- and second-level master’s degree in Regulatory Disciplines, and a master’s degree in Pharmacovigilance. If we ever have a question in the field of animal pharmaceuticals and their relative regulations, we know who to ask. It is no surprise that Matteo was employed by Dox-al almost immediately, following the pause imposed by COVID. However, his impressive curriculum should not give the impression that he lives in an ivory tower; far from it. His focus is the use of pharmaceuticals in the field, where their benefits and any side-effects can be analysed, verifying advantages and considering risks.

It is no coincidence that the aspect of his work that he is particularly fond of is the way in which a company such as Dox-al promotes the health and the well-being of animals. Matteo has been here for just over a year, to be precise since March 2022, but he has already had the opportunity to form a positive opinion of the professionalism of his colleagues, their sense of responsibility, their dedication and the interest shown by everyone. “They appreciate detailed explanations”, he said. This leads everyone to be more careful and aware, through a form of teamwork that provides an effective overview of the business. He adds that Dox-al stands apart from other companies, above all for its dual focus on nutraceuticals and pharmaceuticals. This is why it produces nutritional products as though they were pharmaceuticals, with the same rigour and the same precision.

He claims he has learned much here, because theory has been accompanied by experience in the field, and the mathematics of the formulae and rules have been enriched and enhanced through interpersonal relationships, the management of timing and deadlines, and relations with organisations and ministries. All of this with a form of welcome that he will never forget, when, on the first day of work, a colleague reproached him by saying: “Why don’t we focus on something really important and go and have a coffee?”. His initial impressions were then confirmed through a workplace where “we also go out, we talk about our personal lives, and there is constant exchange”.

Plenty of professional duties, plenty of free-time interests. Matteo’s hobbies are all related to the mountains, which he explores through excursions, trekking and climbing, as well as ski mountaineering. We bet that his climbing companions trust him entirely.
